Matt. 10:38, “And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.” The core of imitating the Lord is to rely on the power of the cross to kill the old self and all kinds of evil passions and desires in the heart; and carrying the cross every day is to prevent the old self from breaking out to love the world. The cross is not a burden or humiliation, but a guarantee of new life, filling our lives with true peace, true joy, and true love that do not belong to the world.
