Matt. 11:30, “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” The burdens of the world are the comparison with desires of glory, wealth, fame, fortune, status and all kinds of pleasures, pursuit, and the worry of interpersonal relationships. The core is the lust and pride of the old self. The yoke of the Lord Jesus is the cross. He helps us imitate His model, with humility and self-sacrifice, crucify all the evil passions and desires of the old self, and then we can get rid of the heavy burden so as to joyfully follow God.
